So I finally sucked it up and actually took a day off to crush some of my bucket list items. As much as it pained me to give up the time, it was a much needed break from the hustle and bustle this summer has become. So I had a lovely visitor from Calgary make his way westward, leaving me to do all the planning for a few days. Two birds, one stone, bam let’s get some bucket list done.
So if you haven’t made your way to Deep Cove to do some kayaking, you need to. It is quiet and serene. The perfect getaway without having to go too far!
I could not be more excited to share with all you the opportunity that lies in front of me! I have been offered a volunteer position with the cardiology research department at St. Paul’s Hospital! This is an amazing and beyond exciting chance for me to interact with physicians and nurses in the research world. I work with the data and determine if a patient meets the inclusion data for a study, or should be excluded due to parameters set by the researcher. This is perfect as it nips on the heels of my analyzing dysrhythmias course I have just started with BCIT! I will be working with several studies, including one from St. Jude. I work with mainly device research, but we are working towards a drug trial study, as well! I am positively giddy! This will be in addition to my hours in the emergency department at Vancouver General Hospital. This is truly turning into the best summer ever!
